- G.J. Echternkamp tells the story of his relationship with his parents, his mother Cindy (Russo) and his step-father, Frank (Platt). - 端午去了腾冲国殇墓园，又断断续续了解远征军这段被遗忘的历史，得知这部剧在腾冲拍摄，以滇西抗战为背景。这或许是最佳国产战争剧没有之一，除了对国军的肯定就不说了，它在展现每个有血有肉的人在战争中本来的样子，可以算是中国版的兄弟连吧
- 2.本片不止于细节扎实，可惜的是其他大部分抗日片连这一点都做不到
